I’ve been receiving a lot of positive feedback from people who are reading my book, The Freedom Promise: 7 Steps To Stop Fearing What Food Will Do TO You and Embrace What It Can Do FOR You. My readers have been telling me they are relating to my message of letting go. Letting go of what no longer serves them as it applies to areas of their lives not necessarily related to food.

This is wonderful as my intention in writing the book was to use my story and the strategies I’ve discovered for living a fully nourished life to inspire others to dig deep and try harder to facilitate necessary change because they get to, not because they have to.

We have choices. Some are easier than others and some require moving through and past the fear that has us stuck on issues that eat at us. Letting go allows us to detach from what we thought was real or how it had to be.

Here are 5 strategies for making this happen.

  1. Accept and be grateful. Acceptance for the situations we find ourselves in is so very necessary as we find willingness to turn the page. As you accept, be grateful for what was – it got you to where you are now.
  2. Practice forgiveness for yourself, the story, and the behavior related to it. When you forgive, you are loving with all you have. From this place of love emerges a lightness of being.
  3. Change only the things you can and don’t spend energy on what you can’t. If what you can’t change is toxic, think about changing how you react to it.
  4. Be an active participant in your life as it is NOW. Don’t waste the precious present investing energy in a past that has no future.
  5. Create a space of splendid solitude for you to continually return home to. That’s a space within yourself where you are never alone. In this place there is no fear. From this place the extraordinary happens.
