As we transition from the dense root vegetables and heavier cold-weather foods to the lighter and colorful fruits and vegetables of the warmer weather seasons, many of us are still confused as to what to eat.

At a recent annual conference for the Institute for Functional Medicine, a food panel was held where the scope was WHAT’S THE RIGHT DIET? WHAT MAKES A DIET RIGHT?

Dr. Sara Gottfried, author of The Hormone Cure, described the discussion recently in an email I received. I feel it is worth sharing as this is a conversation I often engage in with family, friends and clients.

The panel consisted of several experts in the field of functional medicine and nutrition. What follows are 10 of their “truth bombs”. While some are funny, most are wise.
